Art defines a scene of tranquillity where you pause for a period to absorb the moment.
Simon started creating metal formed sculptures back in 2008, after working as a metal fabricator for 27 years. Simon left school in 1996 and worked with his father who was a very skilled engineer with an abundance of knowledge in welding and fabrication. His father’s traits and experience were passed down to Simon and he soon discovered that he had a passion for abstract metal art and have since been creating his own unique style of contemporary modern designs.
The great outdoors bears substantial influence within my work. The scenery from landscape settings as well as environmental objects allowing me to capture and cultivate the everyday views.
Simon uses a variety of metals to create his work as each metal serves its own unique purpose. You can do a lot with stainless steel such as mirror polished finish, brushed finish or my very own style as the scatter polish finish. If you like the rustic look then mild steel is a great choice. Simon also uses copper and aluminium.
